For the past couple of weeks, politicians, some mainstream media, and random people on the internet have been talking about the wave of drone/UAP sightings across New Jersey and other areas on the East Coast of the US. And for the past couple of weeks I’ve been glued to the UFO/NHI/Weird subreddits looking at every newly posted video and testimony regarding these drones. I so want it to be the real deal. I desperately want what we in the UFO fanclub have been promised for so long. Now it’s finally revealing itself! Surely this is it. All the other mass sightings and rumored crashes and conspiracy theories may have been BS, or maybe they were just leading up to this. It’s setting itself up just like in Arrival, this will be great. A new era for humanity!

The debunkers are just haters, cherry-picking the worst reports. They don’t see the REAL cool videos. They haven’t heard the eye-witness accounts. Yes, I know eye-witness testimony is notoriously unreliable, and mass hysteria is a thing. But this stuff is credible. We have state troopers, congressmen and congresswomen, Senators, and Military officials all commenting on this. The FBI doesn’t know what this is either. Sure, these are all still human beings and they’re far from infallible, but these aren’t just nutters either. I mean…. well yeah, Nancy Mace is a crazy person who will say or do whatever insane thing is necessary to get publicity. Like vandalize her own house to frame BLM protestors…. or write a bill to ban a newly elected transgender congresswoman to use the bathroom at the Capitol…. or claim a handshake from a constituent warranted an assault charge against him and wore a fake shoulder brace for the photo-op. OK, bad example for a UAP advocate there, but there are others.

Did you see Larry Hogan is sounding the alarm about these things too? He was Maryland’s governor. He’d have some knowledge of military defense and the skies. Look at these phots of mysterious orbs/drones he himself is witnessing…. hmm, I mean, yeah, they do kind of look like…. ok, yeah that’s just the Orion constellation. OK, bad example.

Look at this video though! Now that’s a real UFO! Drones from Walmart aren’t that big. No one has drones shaped like that…. well, except for this one company that’s a military contractor who are advertising drones that have the exact same shape and approximately the same wingspan. But you know, if these are aliens or beings from another dimension, they could be cloaking themselves to look like human-made aircraft and drones. That’s why they have the FAA-required blinking lights on. It’s certainly not because they are normal aircraft headed to the nearby airport.

I get excited about the Bears every season too. Every time they hire a new coach or GM I totally buy in. Outwardly I might maintain my logical, skeptical attitude, but inside I talk myself into thinking that each new coach really knows what he’s doing. Each new draft pick might hit. And the QB just has to be average and they can be a playoff team. Look at all that cap space, they will sign all the right free agents. Sure, their plan for the Center position is another team’s backup guard who barely played in the past couple of years, but if that works then look out! And every season I’m disappointed, angry, coping, trying to find blame in the thing that hurts the least to realize is the problem, and we cycle through all that again every 1-3 years. One day I’ll learn my lesson and stop caring.

But I can’t resist caring about these “drones”. Most of the videos and photos posted online are objectively not interesting. They just look like distant lights or obvious drones or regular airplanes. One part of my brain, the overly logical and depressed part, keeps telling me these people are crazy. There’s nothing to this, just a bunch of people who are either taking the piss or are too desperate to see a UFO. But then the other part of my brain, the more curious and whimsical and one that still finds some interest in life, goes all in on these stories, dragging the logical and depressed part with it.

Most likely what’s going to happen with this drone/UAP flap is nothing. The government will run out the clock with denials and debunks until the activity slows down and most people and media lose interest. And then we’ll all forget about it until the next flap in a few years. It’s probably just a mixture of some military testing, normal Wal-Mart drones, and misidentifications. Really “nothing to see here” type stuff. Typical disappointing results in the world of UFO speculation.

It’s really not surprising to me that a lot of people could actually mistake stars and normal air traffic for UFOs. Too many people don’t really look up and wonder enough. It’s disappointing how easily duped so much of the American populace is. But on the other side of the brain, at least they’re looking up now, and clearly WANT to see something new and exciting. I desperately want this to be something world-changing and extraordinary. I want to know that we are not alone. I’m pretty sure I’ll never get the definitive answer I’m hoping for. But at least I know when I’m staring up at the sky on a quiet street late at night, begging to see something, I know I’m not the only one looking up.
